Corporate Social Responsibility is a topic that affects every company - including ours. We want to show you what contribution we are already making to greater sustainability today, because it is close to the hearts of our entire team. We are currently still at the beginning of our journey, but we are making progress in small steps to fulfill our mission and become ever more sustainable.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION

Our products are organic. But what does that even mean? "Organic" is not the same as "sustainable" – nevertheless, organic labels require high standards for food production! The processing, storage, and transportation of organic-certified products are subject to strict regulations.

For products with organic labels, it is also guaranteed that certain foreign ingredients are not present. Even during cultivation, inspectors meticulously examine everything once a year. For example, they check whether chemical-synthetic fertilizers and pesticides are avoided. This is just one of the certification requirements that primarily protects farmland and soil. So, organic products are not automatically sustainable, but an organic label indicates that a company values sustainable practices.

CLEAN HUB

We've worked hard to make our packaging sustainable. Not only is it particularly robust and designed to safely deliver our glass bottles to you, but it also avoids plastic wherever possible!

Unfortunately, it is (still) not possible to completely do without plastic. In search of ideas on how to compensate for our plastic consumption, we became aware of CleanHub.

CleanHub is an organization that collects plastic in coastal regions, preventing it from ever reaching the sea. The recyclable portion of the collected waste is sold, added to recycling, and the proceeds from the sale are made available to social projects.

CO2-NEUTRAL SHIPPING

We had to ask ourselves: How do our ginger shots reach you sustainably when you buy them online?

Unfortunately, the emissions generated during the shipping of our products cannot be completely avoided. To offset the CO2 released, we use DHL Go Green. This means all our DHL parcels and packages are shipped worldwide climate-neutrally, and the emissions generated are offset by investments in global climate protection projects.

Are you receiving a large quantity of shots? Then we use Dachser. This logistics partner focuses on consolidating freight flows and optimizing vehicle deployment to minimize CO2, noise, and particulate matter. Furthermore, Dachser only uses low-emission commercial vehicles. Special environmentally friendly tires and continuous driver training are further levers for Dachser in terms of sustainability.

GOOD FOOD COLLECTIVE

As the name suggests, the Good Food Collective is all about good food. And not (just) in terms of taste, but above all in terms of sustainability.

The Good Food Collective is an association of companies in the food industry that want to develop sustainably for society as a whole – ecologically, socially, and economically.

The Good Food Collective connects the individual know-how of its members through projects that we make visible to the public: with campaigns that are played out synchronously by all and thus achieve a reach that a single member would never achieve.

Sluggish systems need to be shaken up. Otherwise, nothing will move. And that's what we do – loudly. Because we are hungry for change!

LEBENSHILFE BAMBERG + SOUTH THURINGIA

We also want to do some good in the last stage of manufacturing our ginger shots. We thought long and hard about how we could proceed sustainably here. After careful consideration, we decided to collaborate with two "Lebenshilfen" (organizations for people with disabilities) from our region.

Now, some of you might be asking: Lebenshilfe – what does that even mean? Lebenshilfe is a non-profit organization that strives to ensure that people with disabilities can be a normal part of our society. Whether it's school support, work and education, or housing in old age – Lebenshilfe provides support wherever possible. Among other things, the organization also offers jobs for people with disabilities, and that's where Kloster Kitchen comes in.

We want to support the mission of Lebenshilfe. That's why every Kloster Kitchen package includes work from Lebenshilfe. If there's something to be packaged, such as our 1SHOTs into 7-packs, either Lebenshilfe Bamberg or Lebenshilfe Südthüringen takes care of it.
